FAQ

1. Do you have an online store?

We don't currently offer a facility to shop online. We can however take telephone orders, goods can be posted out to customers for a small at-cost delivery charge.

2. Why should I buy from C&V?

You may be able to buy some items more cheaply on-line, but supporting C&V enables us to maintain our ministry to the local Christian community and the many visitors to the town and surrounding Peak District. C&V has a very loyal and growing customer base which values the shop as a resource for cards and small gifts as well as books. We receive many expressions of encouragement and delight that there is a Christian bookshop in the town ā€“ we are serving a real need in this area.

3. Can I special order from C&V?

We are always pleased to supply goods to customer order if they are not in stock at the time. Visit our store, call us or submit your enquirey on the form above and we will be happy to deal with your request. Normally goods can be obtained within a few days for collection from the shop. Alternatively goods can be posted out to customers for a small at-cost delivery charge.

4. What is C&Vā€™s pricing policy and do you give discounts?

C&V obtains goods almost exclusively from Christian publishers and suppliers and sells at recommended retail prices where these are stipulated. As a charitable trust C&V does not mark-up prices. A 10% discount is given for church book orders. Discounts for quantity orders are normally passed on to our customers.

5. I live out of Buxton ā€“ is the shop easily accessible and is there parking nearby?

C&V is located on the market place in Higher Buxton which is a main paying carpark at all times, but has reduced capacity on Tuesday and Saturday market days. There are a number of 40 minute spaces right outside the shop which are very convenient. Most public transport buses serving the town are routed through the market place with stops close to the shop. The shop is readily accessible to wheelchair users.

6. Can I donate books to your second-hand section?

We are always pleased to receive Christian books in good condition and have a growing clientele looking for such material for study purposes and general reading.
